GLUTTONY.....SIXTH DEADLY SIN

FEED OUR LACK

How does one define gluttony? Greed? For what? Possessions, money, praise, power or food? At times people travel long roads without sustenance, so when they receive a meal, they have quite a bit of catching up to do, which is genuine hunger and not gluttony. Where does gluttony derive from.......is it a REACTION towards a previous lack that we experienced leaving us traumatised? A child raised in financial poverty can never get enough money, it is like an obsession to never suffer poverty again . Once again gluttony is a fruit off the tree of insecurity. It is the fear of being without that causes the gluttony. This is a result of an unbalanced life....where we haven't found an equilibrium between physical and spiritual, sometimes the emotional side is so damaged, we don't want to go back in there to sort it out, we rather ignore it and pretend it is not there. A spiritually empty person leans on material possessions to fill that gap. Instead of punishing them for their lack, why not show them how to balance life with spiritual values bringing emotional stability which allows for contentment in all circumstances and there will be no more need for greed and gluttony because they will realize life is not about what we possess, but about filling ourselves, developing and completing our journey with our virtues and values in tact.....the rest is only for temporary convince....

ROOT OF GREED

SPIRITUAL BALANCE

Years of poverty and hardship cut very deep,

even haunting us when we lay and sleep,

we work very hard to escape its claws,

but the damage in our hearts remains in its jaws.

We find a job and save for rainy days,

life has crushed us in so many ways,

the users in life have broken our trust,

trying to make sense of all that's unjust.

We have a hunger that is never filled,

a part of us that seems to be killed,

from observation it would appear as greed,

but this gluttony has roots in a far deeper seed.

We need to find some spiritual balance,

bringing peaceful calmness into our reliance,

to find the treasures of joyful serenity,

the fullness and pleasures of tranquil divinity.

COVETOUSNESS

EVIL SEED

Once again, keep your eyes pure and look not upon others but within.....all we need is stored inside, in the form of seed or it won't fit in.....it is massive....our abilities... Once we find the seeds by looking within, we plant them, tend them, and allow then to grow into our talents and abilities........ providing us with all we want and need, and we will be so busy growing and becoming complete, we'll never have the time to covet what others have, besides we will be content and happy with our continuous progress, we would have no desire to covet. 

WHO COVETS WHAT OTHERS HAVE????

THE IDLE....who have the time....

THE LAZY...who are not willing to put the work in but still want and want...

THE LOST...who lend their eyes and ears out to the lures and temptations of Satan.

Covetousness again is a small seed which grows in a very ugly plant of jealousy, envy, greed, theft, even murder as fruits that it bears. To desire with the eyes is one thing, but when it leads to an action it leads onto the paths of death, it opens many doors of destruction and degradation....

PURE EYES LAY NOT ON ANOTHER MANS POSSESSIONS

DON'T CROSS THAT LINE....IT IS NOT YOURS... DO NOT TOUCH, NOT EVEN WITH YOUR EYES...

Keep your eyes pure and do not covet,

it's a tiny seed that becomes an evil deed,

do not look at what others possess,

it will awaken jealousy and cause you to obsess.

The seed of covetousness grows into an evil tree,

stealing our lives and all we can be,

bearing fruits of envy, greed, even thefts and lies,

it leads us into crime as our soul slowly dies.

Keep your eyes pure and look within,

you will find your talents that truth will bring,

everybody is blessed with all they ever need,

if we reach within and plant the right seed.

As we grow and develop our success becomes clear,

we never covet what another holds dear,

it is off limits and we don't cross that line,

we find other things to make us feel fine.

DEVASTATION OF ANGER

HEAL THE PAIN

What is anger but the fruit of pain, disappointment, frustration, abuse and the likes - it is a result, a REACTION, and becomes like a tunnel of a hour glass.....it collects all the pain and troubles which are squeezed into the tunnel of anger and spews out enormous rage and destruction on the other side when it can no longer be controlled, once again spreading a mass of pain seeds as insults and curses fly all over the place. It causes enormous damage to relationships in homes, businesses, and even between nations. A better way is to expose the pain, the source of the pain, the reasons for the pain and heal the pain through understanding how it works and why it affects us the way it does and stop spreading it further and further through anger. So many people are hurt without anyone INTENTIONALLY OR INTENDING TO HURT THEM.....WHY DOES IT HURT YOU....HOW DOES IT GET TO YOU????? WE ARE HURT BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT BEEN TAUGHT TO DEAL WITH EMOTIONS, ESPECIALLY MEN....WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SHOW OUR EMOTIONS, WHICH IS UTTER RUBBISH, WHEN WE UNDERSTAND HOW EMOTIONS WORK AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM, THEY ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO HURT US AND WE HAVE OVERCOME AND CONQUERED THEM.....

DESTRUCTIVE ANGER

BURNT TO ASHES

Anger and rage burn emotions to ashes,

violence and destruction viciously lashes,

cursing and swearing stab like a knife,

fueling the fires of devastating strife.

The fruit of pain that sucks us down the drain,

in deep darkness where there is no gain,

it turns in circles over and over,

the wicked prisons of crimson and clover.

Enormous damage it brings to relations,

even instigating wars between nations,

it always leaves behind its destruction,

as we refuse understandings instruction.

We are hurt because we cannot cope,

becoming confused and losing all hope,

there are so many things to understand,

as we travel on our journeys across the land.

THE TERRIBLE GREEN MONSTER LURKING UNSEEN

ENVY

Envy and jealousy is a terrible green monster, eating us away like cancer. Most envy breeds from lack of gratitude....

When we SEE what we DO HAVE and not what others have. When we SEE what capabilities and talents WE have and not what others achieve. When we SEE what WE need to do the achieve......THEN WE START MOVING FORWARD.....Every person has a different talent and when we develop our OWN talents we become the best we can be and THEN WE HAVE NO NEED TO ENVY OTHERS  It is idleness that gives us the time to see what others have, when we are busy we don't have the time. Most of us have eyes that see, ears that hear, mouths that can speak, arms and legs that are operational and a thinking brain and with this the ability to develop skills to bring us what we require in life. To have a family and or friends is far more important than diamonds and gold. When our priorities are sorted, we reach our full potential.....all this HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OTHERS, OR WHAT THEY ACHIEVE, OR WHAT THEY POSSESS.....WE ARE NOT HERE TO COMPARE OURSELVES. WITH OTHERS, BUT TO FIND OUR JOY, HAPPINESS AND CONTENTMENT WITHIN THE ABILITIES THAT WE DO HAVE.

NASTY, UGLY, MEAN JEALOUSY

FATEFUL ENVY

Why do we look at what others enjoy,

when we can develop skills and abilities to deploy,

why do we envy another mans success,

when we too can continually progress.

How do we even know the next mans possessions,

unless covetousness is feeding our obsessions,

idleness always breeds much contempt,

as jealousy eats us away and won't relent.

When we look and see what WE possess,

gratitude will take away all our stress,

when we look and see what WE need to do,

we will find prosperous paths which to pursue.

We all have hidden talents within,

when fully developed its fruits it will bring,

blessed with healthy bodies and capabilities,

we can surround ourselves with joys and tranquility.

LUST....ALL SORTS OF LUST.....

DESIRE OVERRULES MORALS

Lust travels far deeper than merely actions. Sex, for example....it opens the door into family, into a home and onto our children. As humans are created as emotional beings , marriage was given for two VIRGINS to unite as one, not only for marriage purposes but to keep them pure from disease and give their children a safe family environment in which to grow up where both parents are always there. Also for emotional purposes....to prevent their hearts being broken, which causes emotional turmoil, anger, rage, revenge, and a mass of extremely detrimental actions, destroying their souls and darkening their minds. It causes an enormous amount of damage that the spills on the children, friends, colleagues, and all those around them causing a chain reaction...and keeps spreading....it starts with the eyes - looking upon nudity of others, the property of others, the talents of others, the outer beauty of others, the title of others, etc, etc.....igniting the list which lead to the actions that we later become ashamed of. There are many lusts :list for riches, money, beauty, title, houses, cars, fancy clothes and jewels, position and the list continues....all starting with the eyes causing us to do many underhand things which we know are wrong to obtain what we list for, but we think no one will ever know.... But we know and that is enough for our conscience to condemn us. That is what places us in captivity and what leads tod to death.... Imprisonment in darkness...that is what death means....imprisonment..  

Our LUSTS SHOULD NEVER, NEVER OVER SHADOW OUR MORALS, VIRTUES AND VALUES....NEVER.....THIS IS WHERE WE DRAW A VERY DEFINITE LINE.....AND DO NOT CROSS IT....

PASSAGES OF LUST

REPLACING EMOTIONS

Lust begins when desire is awoken,

often leading to morals that are broken,

it starts with the eye and things in sight,

luring the mind and heart into flight.

We become so obsessed for earthy gain,

we do whatever it takes even causing pain,

we cross the lines of values and virtues,

opening the doors to greater issues.

We become involved with dishonest gain,

we do underhand things that cause others pain,

it darkens our minds so we lose our way,

then make excuses to save the day.
