HELD BACK
Great wealth is found in peace of mind,
a conscience that's clear is hard to find,
the man that can face a storm with no fear,
knowing how to handle problems far and near.
There are certain things that money can't buy,
the values we treasure when telling no lie,
deceit and cheating have many disguises,
catching us out with nasty surprises.
We think we can hide it but it comes to abide,
forming our character as it takes us for a ride,
we become blind to its after effects,
but others see clearly and lose their respects.
We try to get ahead in this busy life,
are continually pulled back by cheating and strife,
we cry and say life is so unfair,
