EMBRACE OUR LACK
Fearing life and blaming others,
brings a veil that deeply smothers,
we all have weaknesses and strengths,
life takes us all to great lengths.
We fear the light for it reveals the truth,
even from our days of youth,
we're forced to face all our own lack,
our shortcomings that make us lose the track.
We don't want to see our own flaws,
we're afraid of opening yesterdays doors,
we don't want to relive our pain and sorrows,
don't want to acknowledge all life's horrors.
And so the pain keeps coming back,
day after day it manifests our lack,
yet we keep on pushing it away,
as it rears its head to spoil another day.
Fear is bred through lack of knowledge,
draws more fear as we fail life's college,
it fills our lives with a darkness that's deep,
continually finding more sorrow to reap.
The only way to break this cycle,
is to come face to face with every debacle,
knowledge brings us peace of mind,
filling our lack with the truth we find.
Life will burst forth like a flowing bud,
plucking us out of our darkened rut,
joy and laughter will fill our soul,
healing will flow and make us whole.
