HOPELESS LIVES
Like sheep to the slaughter we're broken by lies,
all the love and humaneness within us dies,
continually battling with trickery and deceit,
we're sucked deeply into a circle of defeat.
Lies and deceit destroy all love for each other,
we lose our respect as our morals smother,
we're hurt and anger rises to the fore,
causing rot and decay to our very core.
We don't know how to escape this noose,
so anger and rage take the paths of abuse,
we don't care anymore, our love is gone,
destruction and burning has become our new song.
Nations are raging through their moral decline,
honour and decency are swept down the line,
people are tired of being trashed every day,
sick of lies and deceit that pave their way.
