SUCKED EMPTY
Our material greed is killing the earth,
we can't get enough to bring us some worth,
every step we take up the corporate ladder,
we lose another moral and become a little badder.
The more morals we lose the emptier we become,
our life is sucked away and we become rather glum,
the hole in the soul becomes big and bare,
more and more possessions don't bring us any care.
Our purity and decency has washed down the drain,
all the possessions in the world can't restore its gain,
it can't fill the emptiness growing in our hearts,
can't make the sun shine when each day starts.
The more we are broken the more possessions we need,
the more possessions are made the more the earth does bleed,
our worth and happiness is not somewhere out there,
it's a love that grows and brings complete repair.
