WORTHLESS EMPTINESS
When wanting to rise in the material world,
part of us is taken a and twirled,
we work and work for many years,
earn our way through sweat and tears.
We gather together a little comfort,
buy beautiful things with enormous effort,
then live under threat if losing it all,
when we refuse to bow to evil's call.
We find a partner and settle down,
start a family and end with a frown,
our loved ones threatened once again,
breaking our hearts with anguish and pain.
The cost of a worldly life is high,
just listen to all those crying to the sky,
the higher we rise the lower we dive,
only worthless emptiness with which to strive.
