AGAINST THE TIDE

We can't always swim against the tide,

it's far too strong so we go for the ride,

as it takes us along we move to the side,

until we find a safe place to reside.

Life does not always ask us to choose,

there are times where we find our neck in a noose,

we don't know what hides behind a door,

as we blindly enter in to explore.

It's not about the places we wander,

that pluck at our lives and pull it asunder,

it is all about the skills and abilities,

to rise above life's many trivialities.

We develop a healthy sense of curiosity,

opening doors to every possibility,

awaken the private detective inside,

revealing the knowledge that it does hide.

With this in mind we continue to grow,

we will know when to swim or go with the flow,

life becomes a continuous adventure,

exposing all its secrets and treasure.
