FREEDOM TO MOVE AND SHAKE

WHAT A JOY.....FREEDOM TO CRAWL AND MOVE AND BECOME ACTIVE............. This is another very important jump in the development stage....not only in growth, and the development of muscle power and coordination, distance judging and becoming focused, but also at the same time massive steps in personality and character development is taking place here. Try not to block this process due to furniture being in the way or sharp edges that may hurt the baby..... remember they are concentrating on their hands and ground level, whatever may be on the floor, they don't know to look out for sharp objects. Either cover the edges with thick foam rubber or remove the furniture and store it untill they are well past this stage. When we continually say "no, no, no, not here and no no there", we are subconsciously planting negativity and resistance, fear and restrictions into our toddler which leads to insecurity, doubt, withdrawal and timidness....it is only for a while, so make the house safe for the crawler so you don't end up with a frustrated, agitated bawler. We are dealing with a fully developed brain that wants to get on with life and they certainly don't need to be continually held back, or picked up and placed somewhere else....you will be instilling into your child a terribly strong stubborn streak....because they will keep going back to where you take them away because that is where they are busy. At this stage a baby needs all the support and encouragement they can get without building barriers and fear at such a young age. When a toddler is continually held back, they loose interest and stop trying, may even delay the crawling stage and the walking...they become quiet and reserved, and this is not what you want....give them the space, give them the room and the house for a while, it is well worth the little extra trouble..... please don't dampen the child's spirit..... be excited for them and with them, even crawl with them and play with them, be happy for them, hug them and kiss them when they manage to get from one place to the other as this plants the seeds of eagerness, willingness, positivity and fuels the learning process tremendously. Once again think like the baby, go down where they are and look through their eyes and see what you see that may be a danger from that angle.....this way you are building the characteristics of an eager, happy, joyful student....and above all, enjoy every stage of your little bundle of joy.....when we do this right your baby will never cry.....check it yourself....I lie not.....enjoy.....©
