WHEN DO WE OWN OUR MISTAKES/ DEBTS/WRONGS OR SINS ????
WHEN DO WE NOT OWN A DEBT.....
We are lured into situations under false pretenses and forced into wrong doing through threats and fear brought about by ignorance. Because it was done in deceit, we don't claim it as ours....we apologize and ask forgiveness for the wrong we have done but don't own it...... rightly speaking it belongs to the deceiver........yet we still clear ourselves.
When we know what is there and intentionally through curiosity or lust or any other reason enter in, then we have no choice but to own up. It was our choice, our decision and we knew what we were doing - be it out of anger, spite or revenge - it was an intentional decision.
We are not deceitful by nature and are therefore easily deceived when trying to do life on our own. There is so much to know and for most part we are rather ignorant of all the hidden agendas in life. When we err we are told ignorance does not stand up in a court of law - we should have found out before we climbed in. We basically know right from wrong, but in the rush of life, all the disappointments, sorrows and pain, we become lost and move forward without thinking at all and often land in situations where we are out of our depth. Then instead of making right, we do the best we can with the bad situation leaving a trail of errors and mistakes in our path. When these land up in the wrong hands, it becomes a sword hanging over our heads which may strike at any time and this is not a good place to be. SO......how do we handle this - WE TAKE CONTROL OF THE SWORD - WE TAKE IT OUT OF HAND OF THE OTHER PERSON. How do we do this ???? WE LAY CLAIM TO OUR MISTAKES/ ERRORS/ DECISIONS/ SINS.....WE OWN THEM, THEY ARE OURS, WE DON'T GIVE THEM TO OTHERS TO USE AGAINST US.... WE ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT WE HAVE SAID AND DONE AND BY DOING SO TAKE THE POWER OUT OF THE ACCUSERS HAND AND TAKE CONTROL OF WHAT IS OURS. Where deceit invited us in and we acknowledge our presence there but that things were done to us and we partook without intent, we just went along because we had no idea how to get out of the situation. Now we need to clear it out of the way so it doesn't bite us again ....so......we either apologize for any wrongdoing, repair, restore or return what we can. We DO ALL WE CAN to rectify matters and if others refuse to forgive us, that ball is in their court..... we have asked forgiveness so our side is clear.
Where we intentionally do wrong, we need to deal with our curiosity, lusts, anger, etc in a different way. We also own our mistakes, claim it, it is ours and we must be in charge of it and in control and be responsible OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL AND MAKE US A SLAVE OF OUR ERRORS. There is no shame in trying and failing, or entering and making mistakes, the only person that doesn't make mistakes is the one that never tries anything......the secret is NOT TO BE CAUGHT AND TRAPPED IN OUR ERRORS. This is where we turn the tide and learn that mistakes are training tools and we are a work in progress. It is within the fixing, apologizing, returning, etc where the secrets of life lay hidden and that is where we learn the most, providing we fix the mistakes. It is vitally important to BE IN CONTROL OF OUR MISTAKES and that is why we connect to the Spirit of God - it guides us through all these experiences and training. Only reading the instructions to life is not enough, we need to understand what lays behind it and this we receive through the deep insight the Holy Spirit provides for us..... Claim your mistakes as tools for advancement and don't bow to threats, just once is enough to keep bowing for the rest of your life....DON'T BOW.... CLAIM AND OWN.......©
