PAIN OF LIES
Lies breed from fear to speak and be open due to aggression, ridicule and belittlement, especially in front of others. We all see things in our own special way and what we see is very, very real and true for us. What is true for me may be a lie for you. So let's respect and embrace all the different views of the same matter and enlarge our outlook on life. Also things change, nothing stays constant....what is true today might become a lie tomorrow as we discover deeper truths on life. The more that is revealed, the more things change.
Often we are pushed into a corner unexpectedly and speak the first words that bubble out of our mouths because we don't know what to do or say. We don't know how to express our thoughts or feelings then just ramble on and most of it is falsehood.....plain lies....totally unintentionally and then don't know how to rectify it afterwards, so we keep silent.
Then there are the difficult questions, especially asked by children and we don't know how to answer, so we make up a story to cover our ignorance and stop the questions - later the child finds the real answers and sees us as liars.... because we did lie....not a good idea...no one knows all the answers and children don't expect it either, so it is far better to admit that we have absolutely no idea and research for the answers together...... this way we never need to make up stories and break their trust. It also teaches them where and how to search for answers which is a very wise seed to plant in a child. Even the tooth fairy and father Christmas is heart breaking when the truth comes out....children can't understand why they are made fools to believe in trash....it's cruel....DON'T DO IT, THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT. BELIEVE ME.. CHILDREN SENSE WHEN ADULTS LIE, THEY HAVE SOME SORT OF BUILT IN ANTENNA THAT PICKS UP THE VIBE. ... DON'T LIE TO A CHILD - IT TEACHES THEM THAT IT IS OKAY AND WILL CAUSE THEM MANY TROUBKES LATER IN LIFE.
When we do something undesirable and feel ashamed, we also cover it with little fibbs... Lies....we can make mistakes and wrong moves...we all do it...DON'T HIDE IT, IT WILL COME OUT...NOTHING IS SECRET, SOMEONE ALWAYS KNOWS.
Best way to deal with lies...DON'T LIE AT ALL....IT GROWS ARMS, LEGS AND TAILS, PLENTY OF THEM AND GETS BIGGER AND BIGGER AND DARKER AND DARKER AND THEN WE MUST LIE TO COVER THE LIE AND WE DROWN IN LIES. Either make a lie come true, but doing what you said you would, providing it is not going to enslave you in crime and evil, OR admit that you erred in your words and meant something else, that you panicked and spoke before thinking.....but bring it into the light, expose it, otherwise IT WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE....LIES EAT US ALIVE. Lies and secrets are incredibly powerful weapons in the wrong hands. It is extremely difficult to admit a lie, but it is better than losing the respect of others and possibly friends or family, or hearing people say " don't believe a word that one tells you....they are liars". It stabs like a knife that gets twisted over and over, even when it is true. But worst still when our children stop listening to us because we've lied to them. It hurts very deeply, both us and them, because who must they trust if not their parents. When we hide things in lies and it is used against us, we land in terrible situations and are dragged into very dark places where we are helpless and terrified. TEACH CHILDREN FROM YOUNG TO BE RESPONSIBLE WITH THEIR DEEDS AND WORDS AND TO BE ACCOUNTABLE AND FACE THE CONSEQUENCES WHEN AND WHERE IT HAPPENS.....THEN PAY WHAT IS DUE, MAKE RIGHT WHAT NEEDS TO BE RIGHTED AND REMAIN FREE FROM THIS TERRIBLE DARK PRISON OF OUR OWN DOING. AND PARENT MUST LEAD BY EXAMPLE....DON'T LIE. DON'T LAND IN THE SLAVERY OF LIES....IT IS A TERRIBLE PRISON....©
